• Previous professional experience of managing a diplomatic residence including event management;
• A high level of spoken English and Norwegian;
• Previous professional experience in cooking and catering
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Ability to work within a team;
• Legal right to live and work in Norway

Arbeidsoppgaver

The precise range of duties will vary over time, but will include the following:

• Performance of tasks at the Official Accommodation of the Ambassador to ensure that it is fit for purpose for official representation
• Cleaning of the Official Accommodation and associated duties (including path clearing during snow)
• First line maintenance and liaison with the Embassy on contracts and ad hoc maintenance
• Supervision of suppliers at the Official Accommodation including liaison with security, landscaping and other contractors and delivery operatives on site
• Preparation of meals and catering of functions including receptions, buffets, and sit down lunches and dinners
• Sourcing and purchase of safe and high quality food for official functions and liaison with wholesalers
• Cleaning of kitchen, food preparation areas and all kitchen equipment to a high standard
• Care and management of all State assets at the Official Accommodation, including representational crystal, silver, china and alcohol
• Maintenance and upkeep of the Official Accommodation inventory
• Assistance with the organisation of functions and events
• Provision of tea/coffee for meetings on request
• Service at dinners, lunches, receptions and other externally-catered events hosted by the Embassy, including the supervision of additional staff for larger events
• Management of the Accommodation during absence of the Ambassador on leave or otherwise
• Any other duties which may be required

Vi tilbyr

Terms and conditions of employment:

• The successful candidate will be hired on a fixed-term contractual basis;
• Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, with standard office hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm;
• The position will have a starting salary of 386,934.68 NOK per annum, paid locally on a monthly basis. Salaries are paid direct to a bank account, therefore, the successful candidate must have a bank account; and
• The position will require regular out of hours work in the evening/at weekend and will be agreed in advance
