We have a great opportunity for two Band 6 Speech ⟪uage Therapist to join our community team, working with adults with acquired neurological disorders. We are looking for Speech and Language Therapist with the required clinical knowledge and skills to treat patients with communication and swallowing difficulties resulting from a wide range of neurological conditions including but not limited to stroke, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and dementia. The North West Surrey Adult SLT Team provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic input that is individually tailored to each client to help them reach their goals, as well as providing essential support to carers and families and working as a key part of our MDTs. We have excellent working relationships with local acute and community SLT services, dietetics colleagues, palliative care teams and organisations such as the MNDA and have a commitment to delivering high quality care to our patients. This is promoted via regular peer support, clinical supervision, training courses, team CPD sessions, attendance at local dysphagia and communication forums and service development projects. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and be highly motivated to provide great care, continually update their knowledge and skills and support colleagues. You will be joining a small team of highly skilled Speech ⟪uage Therapists, working with adults across the North West Surrey area. The team is based at Woking Community Hospital and works across Woking and Walton Community Hospitals and domiciliary settings. As this is a community service that covers a large geographical area, being a driver is essential. Dysphagia competence is also an essential requirement and ideally you will have at least 18 months post graduate experience. Flexible working arrangements are available.
