With five world-renowned hospitals we are full of opportunity for nurses who are starting out in acute medical nursing or looking for progression to develop new skills, get involved in quality improvement and collaborate with leading medical teams. Undertake a bespoke 18 months rotation programme with a clear pathway to progress to Band 6 and higher. The rotations include acute admissions, gastroenterology, respiratory, older people's medicine and endocrinology and diabetes.Fulfil your potential in hospitals that make history: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary's, Queen Charlotte's &Chelsea, Western Eye. On our busy and stimulating wards we care for patients who present with a medical emergency. Their conditions can include acute sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac failure, severe deterioration of chronic illness, and acute flare ups of existing conditions. The wide range of conditions will enable you to build on your understanding of acute care management to include:• prevention of admission to intensive care• cardiac monitoring• non-invasive ventilation management in short term and long term care• involvement in the MDT• complex discharge planning • supporting physical care in mental health patientsWe offer our patients holistic care. We enjoy and have a positive and productive relationship with our A&E department. You will be able to follow the patient pathway from admission to discharge and support their transfer to a specialist ward for further treatment. With this experience and learned skills you will be well prepared for a more senior role within acute medical care and/or working in emergency and intensive care departments.
