Cardiology Nursing Opportunities, Hammersmith Hospital. Hammersmith Hospital is ICHT’s specialist hospital based in East Acton and renowned for its strong research connections. It offers a range of services including renal, haematology, cancer and cardiology care, and provides the regional specialist heart attack centre. The Cardiac Directorate based at Hammersmith Hospital are seeking nurses who are quality driven and have a passion for cardiology. A7/CCU Ward – Band 5 vacancies A7 is a 27 bedded inpatient cardiology ward incorporating a 5 bedded coronary care unit and 22 step-down beds including monitoring and telemetry Following a recent establishment review we have increased the nursing establishment on A7/CCU. Staff rotate between the CCU and the 22 step down beds. We are looking for forward thinking, experienced and enthusiastic nurses to join our team. As a Band 5 nurse you will have a keen interest in cardiology, be at the forefront of a dynamic cardiology service and be self-driven to learn. The CCU cares for Level 2 patients post PPCI, complex cardiac arrhythmias, intra-aortic balloon pumps IABP and patients on non-invasive modes of ventilation NIV. ECG interpretation skills are essential prior to rotating into CCU. Heart Assessment Centre – Band 5 vacancies The Heart Assessment Centre HAC comprises of 9 short stay cardiology beds and 3 assessment beds. HAC receives patients direct via LAS as part of Imperial's 24/7 Primary PCI service experiencing acute MI’s and complex cardiac arrhythmias. Nurses on this unit must be driven, able to work in a fast paced environment and use their own initiative. You will be expected to be IV competent and able to undertake venepuncture &cannulation. For all posts you will ideally have a minimum of 6 months post registration experience, preferably in cardiology or acute medicine. We offer opportunities for further study, such as introduction to critical care, Cardiac Care, mentorship. Opportunities will be available to work rotate through all 3 inpatient cardiology wards for those who express an interest.
