TalenCia Consulting is currently looking for a AS400 Administrator for one of our renowned clients.

As the IBM i System Administrator, reporting to IT Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our systems our IBM i systems (AS400). The goal of this position is to; maintain maximum availability of our IBM i server environment.

Location: Luxemburg

Period: 6 months + extensions

Qualifications: 5 years of experience supporting IBM I systems as system administrator

Skills:

• Manage projects involving technological enhancements, upgrades, and patches, as well as the implementation of new or current technology solutions.

• Ensure that the IT change management process is overseen and facilitated.

• Follow technical management criteria while reviewing, recommending, and monitoring the source code/versioning management function.

• Assume technical leadership and responsibility for challenges involving a variety of disciplines and technology.

• Perform performance optimization and troubleshooting.

• Create, deploy, and maintain an IBM I platform-wide monitoring and alerting process.

• Look for chances for technical innovation and process improvement.

• Develop and implement a thorough release management and planning program that is ongoing.

• Ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance of the company's solutions

• Ensure the management of incidents and user support

• Very good knowledge of iSeries systems and languages (AS400)

• Automation skills are an added value

• Skills in development are good to have: command of RPG development languages
