The Director, Area Sales is responsible for meeting revenue goals within multiple assigned accounts in the assigned industry within a specific geographic region. This position directly manages a team of 3-5 Sales Account Managers and reports to the Vice President, Regional Sales. Role: * Achieve aggressive Regional license revenue and service sales targets each fiscal quarter and fiscal year * Effectively manage a group of experienced Account Managers who are geographically dispersed across multiple regions including SA . This includes: o Recruiting and hiring as required o Setting goals and objectives o Training and coaching o Performance Management * Mentors the Sales Account Managers in all aspects of the sales process and sales methodology, account management, company resource coordination, and administration * Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to executive management * Maintain sales expenses within allocated budget * Coordinate with Global Account Sales Management to ensure proper account coordination and penetration in assigned accounts and sales quota achievement on a team basis * Coordinate with business unit management and staff to ensure proper pricing of proposed solutions and development of new campaigns * Coordinate opportunities with solution partners as required Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject * Master’s Degree or equivalent would be beneficial * Chemical Industry knowledge is required * Detailed understanding of the Chemical marketin EURA and South Africa (local knowledge of Key accounts, Sasol, Petro SA, etc would be an advantage) * Global account experience (working knowledge of Sabic would be an advantage) * Demonstrated record of success in direct sales role and extensive experience selling enterprise software and engineering solutions in the Chemical sector * Demonstrated account management experience on a global scale * Familiarity with process modelling software products and services, advanced process control / real time optimization, manufacturing execution systems and planning and scheduling solutions preferred * Able to work collaboratively and effectively lead, motivate, and manage sales professionals * Demonstrates a strong methodology on leadership and understand resonant leadership * Possess executive presence and ability to establish and cultivate effective relationships at executive level, both within the organization and externally * Strong influencing skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to perform in a highly stressful, result-focused, environment * Excellent English verbal and writing skills * Working knowledge of Aspen Tech products * Language skills, German and Afrikaans. * Travel is expected approximately 50% of the time. * Closing date 30th January 2018 * Competitive salary and benefits
