The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe caring and respectful way. The North Ayrshire Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service require an enthusiastic and motivated Addictions Support Worker to enhance our existing services. You will be based in North Ayrshire within Caley Court Stevenston and you will be flexible to work weekends and evenings across North Ayrshire and Arran in order to meet service demand. With recent work experience within the area of Addiction Services you will provide comprehensive support to the Senior Addiction Staff team who carry a caseload of clients requiring alcohol and drug treatment support. You will also be required to support the overall Addiction Service by assisting with and delivering brief treatment interventions injecting equipment programme (IEP) backpacking and monitoring addiction related prescriptions by liaising with other addiction agencies and by assisting in the collation and presentation of statistical information and routine client data. A professional qualification at Higher National Certificate level or equivalent experience in a relevant area e.g. health social care or drugs and alcohol studies is essential. With an excellent understanding of drug/alcohol use and associated issues you will also have excellent communication and information technology skills. Experience of working in a community setting as well as in an addiction related environment is desirable. A car owner/driver is essential. Hours: 37.5 per week.
