An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy Team for Children and Young people in East Ayrshire. The team delivers services at universal targeted and specialist levels and aims to support the wellbeing needs of children and their families at the earliest opportunity by working in collaboration with our communities. This post will be focused around the early years (0-5 years) and you will develop and deliver training packages lead workshops and provide coaching and mentoring to support families early years practitioners voluntary and third sector social services and the wider community to embed strategies which will maximise childrens speech language and communication skills ensuring that these skills are seen as a fundamental element of children's development. You will have a recognised 4 year Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent and relevant knowledge and experience. You will be given the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around improvement methodology and will have access to recognised evidence based training programmes. You will have strong written and oral communications skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively with a range of people. Regular support and supervision and opportunities to enhance skills will be provided in line with KSF. Hours of duty are 37.5 per week. This post is fixed term until 30 June 2019.
