-?Production Support -?Denmark - Bagsværd Are you interested in providing scientific leadership and delivering pivotal research in an area, where we are actively working on producing the best product for our patients with diabetes? If so, you have the opportunity to play a key role in our Biophysical Characterisation team in Bagsvaerd, Copenhagen. About the department The Department Aseptic Production Support is a part of Diabetes Finished Products (DFP) manufacturing Development in Product Supply (PS) Novo Nordisk. The department is organised in 6 teams with a total of 65 employees. The department is responsible for supporting production sites around the world. The position is in the team Biophysical Characterisation, which consists of 3 scientists and 3 technicians. The current analytical platform consists of a variety of biophysical techniques currently including Micro-Flow Imaging (MFI), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Thioflavin T. The position We offer an exciting and challenging job, where you will solve real world problems based on your fundamental understanding of protein structure and dynamics. You will act as subject matter expert on biophysical characterisation and mature the biophysical competency centre as a significant contributor in DFP and PS. Your main focus will be to spearhead the implementation of the new strategy for biophysical characterisation in manufacturing, including building up competencies within advanced biophysical analysis such as small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). Your fundamental understanding of protein structure and dynamics will help increase our understanding of the challenges experienced in the production, and build up critical knowledge within production processes. Research activities will be focused on handling and understanding complex biophysical related challenges related to all Novo Nordisk production sites e.g. understanding the impact of various stress conditions encountered during production and the effect of these on protein structure and dynamics. In addition hereto, other important tasks are to generate new ideas for addressing the biophysical characterisation in production and establishing a broader and more in depth understanding of physical stability of our products. Communication will be based on scientific reports, presentations and papers, and preparation of project proposals and supervising are also expected. Qualifications You hold a PhD within relevant scientific discipline such as physics, physical analytical chemistry, crystallography or similar with more than 5 years of post-degree experience. You have established an excellent track record and you have an in depth knowledge protein structure, dynamics and stability including chemical and physical characterisation. You are experienced in developing sophisticated biophysical characterisation methods such as SAXS, crystallography or 2D NMR, based on a fundamental understanding of the underlying physical principles. In addition you have experience with applying biophysical analyses to process related challenges and interpretation of results. As a person you are curious and dynamic, with a positive attitude to new ideas and people. You are committed to your tasks and reach your goals and have a keen interest in understanding the science behind the drug development process. You collaborate well with people at all levels. You are cheerful and show a positive attitude towards challenges. You take the initiative for driving your projects and are able to stay on top of things in a dynamic working environment. International research experience would be an advantage. Working at Novo Nordisk At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication and ambition help us change lives for the better.
