Band 6 Specialist Speech ⟪uage Therapist Children with Complex Needs in Newham We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech ⟪uage Therapist with specialist skills and knowledge in the field of complex needs who has a particular interest and experience in the use of high-tech and low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication AAC. The post-holder will join a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary therapy team, working closely with complex needs children and their families in mainstream and resourced school settings as well as in their homes. The post-holder will work with senior Speech ⟪uage Therapy staff to develop the service to children with complex needs, including PMLD, and will support staff with less experience in this area. There may also be opportunities to work with a caseload involving feeding and swallowing difficulties. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience of working in school settings with children with complex needs, together with experience of working with other professionals and families. Newham is in the heart of Londons East End. Geographically compact, it has excellent transport links with the rest of London and Essex. The childrens speech and language therapy service has an excellent reputation with other services both within the trust and with partner agencies, and offers services across a wide range of care groups in this inclusive borough.
