Post Title Maintenance Officer Division Operations Section Facilities Location City Wide Responsible To: Property & Assets Manager Responsible For: Any immediate reports, students on placement and volunteers Job Purpose 1 To provide technical assistance to facility staff and carry out repair and maintenance work where appropriate to do so. 2 To assist the Property and Assets Manager in conjunction with the Operations Managers in the repair and maintenance of facilities. General Responsibilities 3 Be aware of and committed to the equal opportunities principles and practices of the company. 4 Employees are responsible for the implementation of the Health and Safety Policy in so far as it affects them, their colleagues and others who may be affected by their work. The post holder is also expected to monitor the effectiveness of the Health and Safety arrangements to ensure these are implemented and developed as necessary. 5 To carry out duties that support the safe and efficient operation of facilities. 6 To ensure a duty of care to self, staff and members of the public. 7 To work within the Health & Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessment guidelines at all times. 8 To carry out safety/operational equipment and resource checks and report findings in appropriate documentation where required. 9 To attend regular training sessions in order to maintain knowledge and skills required to carry out your duties, and update the essential qualifications. 10 To maintain a high level of conduct and appearance at all times. 11 To understand and display appropriate signage where required when carrying out maintenance duties. 12 To maintain high standards of customer care at all times. 13 To be aware of and comply with the financial procedures of the company. OperationalResponsibilities 14 To carry out monthly emergency light checks across all SA facilities and report any findings to site management. 15 To replace and repair textures and fitting where safe and appropriate to do so. 16 To carry out regular PAT testing as and when required to do so. 17 To support facility staff in the good practice operation of the pool plant, and make any recommendation for positive changes. 18 To support facility staff in the repair and maintenance of the Air Handling Units (AHU), and make any recommendation for positive changes. 19 Support in the maintenance and repair(lockers and cubicles) and report to the Property & Assets Manager any concerns on maintenance compliance. 20 To carry out ad hoc repair and maintenance duties that are appropriate and safe to do so at all SA facilities. 21 To advise the Property and Assets Manager on continuous improvement and/or any concerns on Sport Aberdeen’s health and safety obligations.
