Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN) is an interdisciplinary focus field for material and energy research at the University of Oslo. SMN has focused on basic research in renewable energy and environmentally friendly use of fossil energy sources. Position as Researcher available at Department of Chemistry/Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN).
The fellowship period is for 2 years. Duties may be assigned within the framework of the position. Starting date no later than 01.10.2017.
Job description/ Project description:
We seek a highly motivated researcher at post-doctoral level with appropriate background and experience to take on fundamental and applied research on proton-conducting membranes, electrodes for fuel cells and electrolyzers over a wide temperature range within the Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) "Mobility Zero Emission Energy Systems (MoZEES)". This is a large national project, and collaboration and communication with project partners - especially SINTEF in Oslo - will thus be an important part of the job.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates will be selected in accordance with this, expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
The candidate must have a PhD or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in chemistry, preferably with emphasis on solid-state electrochemistry.
A background in thermodynamic and kinetic properties of solids and interfaces including electrodes from ambient to high temperatures is an advantage, as is also experience with materials synthesis, electrochemical methods like impedance spectroscopy and electron microscopy.
Good command of English, good cooperation and communication skills, independent initiative and leadership will be valued.
Position code 1109, Salary: NOK 486 100 - 567 100 per year, ( pay grade 57 - 65), depending on qualifications and seniority.
