Center for Electric Power and Energy at Department of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a 2-year Postdoc position in the area of market integration of solar PV and storage systems in future distribution grids. The position is available from 1 August 2017. Responsibilities and tasks The ever-decreasing cost of solar PV and storage technology enhances the competitiveness of both technologies in the future renewable energy system. The combination of PV and storage provides benefits to the owners in the form of lower electricity bills and a greener electricity supply. Solar PV and storage are a great match at the distribution system level contributing to the transition to a future renewable energy system. The project treats solar PV and storage as a single unit. The postdoc will simulate the interactions of relevant stakeholders in distribution systems, namely the prosumers, the retailers, the network operators, with respect to different incentive schemes, regulatory framework, and markets. The final goal is to propose design suggestions to market mechanism and regulatory framework for distribution grids in Denmark and Europe to facilitate the integration of solar PV and storage for the upcoming 5-10 years. For the position high quality publications of results in scientific journals in cooperation with project members in the project are of outmost importance. The project is part of a Danish EUDP project. The work will be in collaboration with industry and regulatory bodies. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent. We prefer applicants with the following skills: •application of optimization techniques for solving large scale power system problems; •knowledge of the market design principles; •familiar with transactive energy approaches; •knowledge of data analytics and computing techniques; •knowledge of load flow techniques; •knowledge of one or more existing electricity markets; •knowledge of embedded systems, distributed intelligence or artificial intelligence is an advantage; •Excellent communication skills in English are essential.
