The Danish Polymer Centre is seeking for a PhD student to be enrolled in a project on novel materials for dielectric elastomers. The activities in the Danish Polymer Centre covers polymer synthesis, polymer physics, rheology, composites and elastomers. A main focus is the development of better silicone elastomers for various uses, including dielectric elastomers. Responsibilities and tasks The candidate will be working with the synthesis, formulation and characterization of dielectric elastomers. The candidate must have extensive experience with mechanical and electrical characterization techniques of elastomers and preferably knowledge on dielectric elastomers. Furthermore the candidate must also have experience with experimental polymer synthesis. Qualifications Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. Approval and Enrolment The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU.
