Donegal Salary confidential but commensurate with experience The closing date for this vacancy is 15th June 2017 Role Profile: Our client has a proud heritage in cloth and clothing with a full lifestyle collection of tailored and casual wear. A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Menswear Designer. Role Responsibilities: The focus of this role will be on designing and sourcing coats and casual jackets, trousers/chinos, casual and formal shirts, polos/sweats and knitwear in keeping with the heritage of the brand and with a high level of commercial awareness. You will be involved in the whole process from concept through to sale via the client’s own retail outlets and wholesale customers. You will design and source new seasonal product liaising with production plants. The design process will include adherence to the Critical Path, liaising with relevant Departments including Merchandising, Production Planning and Marketing. Requirements: Knowledge of garment detailing and construction is very important as well as technical knowledge of fabrics used across the collection. Knowledge of technical specifications, pattern cutting, costing and pricing would be an advantage. You will also be responsible for setting up Tech Packs and Bills of Materials. You will be responsible for the “first fit” of each product sample. Excellent presentation skills are required so that you will be able to present your designs to the salesforce with confidence. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are essential and it is expected that the successful applicant will have a relevant professional qualification plus significant experience (ideally 5 years+) in a similar role.
