 Founded in 1966, ISS is an English-language, non-profit, private school for students in pre-school ? grade 12 (age 3-18). Administered by a Director and governed by a Board of Trustees, ISS provides an internationally-accredited education primarily for students of the expat community in Stavanger, Norway. The majority of parents are connected to NATO or the major oil companies located in the region. ISS offers an international university prep curriculum combining the best features of the European and North American systems. The school has English as an Additional Language (EAL) as well as a learning support program for children. Students can participate in various extra-curricular and athletic opportunities.

Italian After School First Language Programme Teacher Position: Temporary - Part-Time -approx. 5.5 hours per week when school is in session - Starting September 2017

To teach the after school first language Italian Programme to students at all levels across the school (Early Childhood, Primary, Middle and High)

 

Requirements

For teaching positions, ISS can only consider applicants with earned university degrees (a masters certification is necessary for U.S. degrees), current teaching qualifications and school teaching certification with UDIR approval.

General minimum requirements to be considered for teaching posts include:

  • An earned bachelor-s degree with a preference of a master-s degree.  PGCE, state teaching certification or equivalent with UDIR approval.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Current knowledge in: learning and assessment methodologies; -learner-centred- classrooms; programme development and evaluation; and differentiated instruction for students with learning differences and EAL
  • Ability to use technology to support learning
  • Two years of teaching experience within the designated specialism or area, preferably in a Pre-School-Grade 12 international school
  • Approval of teaching qualifications through NOKUT and the Utdanningsdirektorate (Education Directorate).
  • Clean police statement.
