Head of Information Band 8C £63,134 - £75,637 per annum inclusive of London weighting Full-time 37.5 hours/week Exciting Senior Management opportunity at a specialist Foundation Trust in the heart of London. Royal Brompton &Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. The Trust is a partnership of two specialist hospitals which are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success. Their clinical teams are skilled in the development and early adoption of new therapies and techniques, and many of the patients they care for, cannot be treated in general hospitals Morgan Law and the Royal Brompton &Harefield NHS Foundation Trust are working in partnership to recruit a Head of Information. The Trust have just gone through a period of modernisation of their systems and data warehousing. To drive forward the team, the successful applicant will be required to lead and deliver the changes, and ensure the transformation is a continued success. We are looking for an inspiring Head of Information to support the Trust Management teams, individual managers and other members of staff, in their interactions with commissioners and regulators. You will provide information on Trust clinical and patient activity to enable professional users to carry out their business in the most effective manner, as well as provide the Trust with a data quality function so that the information supporting the activity and performance monitoring functions is accurate and robust, and conforms to Information Governance guidelines. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Enhancing the knowledge and awareness within the Trust of NHS performance indicators and healthcare standards Interpreting data requirements from non-technical staff into technical specifications for the activity reporting systems. To interpret complex database processes and standards in a simplified manner for non-technical staff. Developing annual activity profiles and weekly / monthly activity reporting. Providing a data quality service focussing on measures used for performance monitoring, trust patient activity and commissioner/SUS reporting requirements, including SUS data flow. Being the trust expert on Referral to Treatment RTT reporting and other waiting time access targets. To understand the rules relating to these targets and how these are applied on a practical level within the Trust. Managing and developing the Oracle reporting data warehouse in line with ISNs, PbR, or changes to the commissioning structure and Trust requirements. Lead the Trust’s strategy on corporate reporting processes including system upgrades or replacements, together with the support company, and be responsible for developing highly complex queries including business plans, strategy or in-depth reviews Overseeing production of the monthly Clinical Quality Report covering performance against the indicators set out in the Single Oversight Framework and the NHS Standard Contract. Ensuring compliance with the NHS England Specialised Services Quality Dashboard data submissions. To succeed, you will need the following experience: Previously worked as Head of Information or similar level within Acute or Provider NHS body. Staff management and leadership of an Information team Specialist information reporting across a broad range of Acute areas including RTT An understanding of the commissioning rules and processes, especially PbR, Exposure to transformation and quality improvement Strong leadership qualities to deliver outcomes against sometimes significant barriers or resistance An ability to work with internal and external Stakeholder engagement including CQC Commissioners You will be joining a strong team, and this is a fantastic opportunity to work to shape the future of the modernisation programme and ensure high class information reporting.
