Corporate Services Research Development and Innovation Division Centre for Health Science, Raigmore Hospital Campus Clinical Research Nurse Part time 30hpw, fixed term 1 year (Secondment Opportunity) Grade: Band 6 Salary Scale: £26830 - £35933 p.a. pro rata A WTE 0.8 vacancy has arisen in the clinical research nurse team within the RD&I Division. The team, based in the NHS Highland Clinical Research Facility in the Centre for Health Science in Inverness, consists of 9 CRNs alongside a Specialty Research Doctor, research pharmacy staff, data managers, and a range of other RD&I staff (42 in the Division). The CRN team supports between 65 and 85 studies at any one time, including highly complex drug studies (CTIMPS), observational studies, registries and a wide range of other activities. Each CRN is expected to support a range of these different studies (which can include both commercial and academic studies). The applicant should be an experienced nurse with some experience of research, either as a clinical research nurse, or as a nurse researcher. The ability to work as part of a team taking on board a wide variety of activities is required. A preference is for an individual able to carry out infusions, however, this is not an absolute requirement and training will be provided. Each CRN also has the responsibility of self directing their work, which can be very varied. The individual must be able to drive, as some studies require visits to GP surgeries or patients homes. They should also be available to include attendance at Investigator Meetings (sometimes abroad), conferences and so on. They must be able to interact with a wide range of clinical departments, including MRI, Radiology, Blood Sciences, Pharmacy and others.
