THE UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN ESTATES CLERK OF WORKS REF: EST193A Applications for this post are invited from persons with appropriate trade and administrative experience. Applicants must have a sound knowledge of building maintenance, project coordination, computerised maintenance management systems and construction in new and refurbishment work. The Clerk of Works (Building) is responsible to the Clerk of Works Manager. The role will form part of the Estates Section which is part of the University’s Professional Services. With approximately 1500 staff, Professional Services consists of a number of student and academic focused areas as well as other corporate and support areas. The main purpose of the role is to plan, prioritise, control and co-ordinate works for planned and reactive maintenance and new projects to deliver an efficient, cost effective, customer focused and safe service in line with statutory standards/requirements. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a sound knowledge of building maintenance and project coordination in new, refurbishment and maintenance works. You will also have experience in compiling planned maintenance schedules and working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation and statutory requirements. Salary will be on the Grade 6 salary scale (£32,004 per annum).
