Band 6 - Trainee Clinical Nurse Specialist Pain Management Service An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Pain Management Service at Barts Health. You will work in conjunction with the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Anaesthetic Consultants, to deliver inpatient and outpatient Pain Services at the Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. You will work within a team of highly experienced Specialist Nurses and Doctors in the delivery of quality, evidence-based acute and chronic pain management services that our patients deserve. The nurse will develop his/her specialist knowledge in providing health care to selected patients referred to the Pain Management Service for specialist advice and management. You must be able to demonstrate leadership and motivational skills, and be able to work in an extended multi-disciplinary team. Flexibility with working hours is necessary in order to meet the role and the service demands. You will possess: Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to support the delivery of acute and chronic pain management throughout the hospital setting. A good level of understanding, clinical knowledge and skills, related to pain management. An understanding of dealing with patients who require acute and or chronic pain management in a medical or surgical environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates for this post must be a registered nurse with a minimum 3 years post registration experience at Band 5. You’ll be educated to Degree level or working towards a Degree and have post registration experience in an acute setting, dealing with patients who are experiencing pain post-surgery or trauma with some experience in Acute Pain Management.
