The position of Kitchen Porter gives the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute to the work of a respected charitable Trust in a challenging but rewarding environment.

The Kitchen Porter will support the catering staff, in ensuring the kitchen is kept to the highest hygiene standards at all times. The Kitchen Porter is a key member of the kitchen team and has a critical role to ensure the kitchen and dining area are kept to the highest standards at all times

Key duties and responsibilities include:

•    Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, cookers, walls) clean and sanitized, including deep cleaning, when required.

•    Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts.

•    Clean up spills immediately to ensure the safety of all at all times

•    Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.

•    Process deliveries, as they come in & checking all items are delivered, as ordered and help the chefs with stock controls.

•    Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.

•    Keep the food and supply storage areas organised.

•    Manage waste, as per HAACP standards.

•    Under the guidance of a chef, Serve hot food to residents in accordance to the Iveagh Trust ethos.

•    Under the direction of the Chefs, help in the delivery of a full catering service that reflects the Iveagh Trust’s commitment to its residents.

Health and Safety responsibilities include:

•    Follow food hygiene, and Health & Safety guidelines

•    To keep work areas safe and report any hazard, loss, damage or near misses in accordance with the Iveagh Trust procedures, including the reporting of anyone in the kitchen, not authorised to be there.

•    Participate in all Health and Safety training scheduled for you.
